What is the Forum for Insulin Switzerland?
FIS is a patient’s advocacy group for diabetics who promote the continued availability of animal insulins in Switzerland. It was founded in 1995.
Goals of FIS
Primary goal:
Maintaining and securing the availability of natural animal insulins in Switzerland.
Other goals:
Maintaining and securing a range of animal insulin, at least as an equal alternative to synthetic „human“ insulins.
Informing members, other patients as well as doctors, hospitals and other organizations about the importance and availability of animal Insulin.
Securing licensing of animal insulins.
Exchange of information and scientific experiences with like-minded organizations in other countries.
Coordinating international efforts
Active observation of the international pharmaceutical market and following up the supply and demand as well as pricing in the diabetes sector.
Cooperation with international partner organizations to support FIS goals.
Promoting the international market for animal insulins.
